Wow! However surprised I am to see a new remix of a pretty old song, I am equally impressed at the quality of this remix :) The drums are hard hitting and it sounds very full and mixed together, except sometimes the basses don't really punch all the way through the mix, but other than that, this very solid. 4.5/5 m8 :)

Thanks!!! :D

Wow! I like this even more than the last one, even just the production part of it. I do admit I should have taken into account that you have made many songs after earthsphere. I especially love the interjected 16th note basses in the first part of the drop. I can't find a single thing that I dislike about it. Amazingly done, man! you really earned my follow :)

Thank you very much! I appreciate the support!

Wow! I first stumbled on this song on your youtube video of this song but I had no idea you had newgrounds. Well, I absolutely love this song. It's my kind of dubstep, it's well made, it has unique sound design and structure, but it doesn't seem to be mastered all that well. It might be normalized to 0db, but I'm not sure, because everything that isn't that one peak sounds and looks really quiet on the newgrounds display thing. considering your exceptional music making skills you probably know something about mastering, so I'm not going to go too in depth, but do try to make your music spend more time up at 0db than this because it's quiter than other songs that are up to volume. Nevertheless, this song is very listenable and enjoyable. 4.5/5 stars easily. Nice job ;)

Thank you for the feedback! I'll take your advice and try to raise the master volume in my future tracks =)

This is gorgeous, to say the least.
i love the intro-all the synths and everything, especially the part where all the downtempoey percussion comes in. The dropp fit perfectly, but my only problem is with the second one. I think that the snare for the second, since it's more of a drum and bass drop, should use a different snare sample (definitely a softer, even higher pitched one) entirely for that drop. Other than that, marvelous work:) keep it up!

Thank you! C418 really did make such pretty music back in the day

It's ok I guess. I saw that this had 180k+ plays, and I was curious to click, but I wasn't super impressed to be honest. You pulled off the genre pretty solidly. The synths sound actually really good and well used. However, the drums are really weak and they don't punch through the mix at all. It's as if you might as well not even have drums. Especially because I don't hear any sidechaining. Try that and it would improve a lot. Also, adding on, the clap is really weak as well. Other than that, pretty solid song :)

Thank you!

OMG!!!!!!! This is so good! I just uploaded a riddim song with the same hashtag and I decided to click on it and I would never expect to find something this good. The only thing is about the sub. It sounds massive and awesome like it should, but it doesn't sound like it has any attack or release. Although it fits rythmically, it sounds like it keeps clipping or something. My suggestion would be to just make it wobble with the main bass, but amazing work, otherwise :)

Thanks for the response I'll keep that in mind :D

This sounds really good, nicely done, but it sounds exactly like something SeamlessR might make...
*COUGH COUGH* "Empire by Seamless" *COUGH SNEEZE* oops sorry i had something in my throat...XD

Thanks for feedback m8 XD

I fell in love with this song the most when the drumstep drop hit at 3:10. It was executed so, so well and it fit perfectly with all of the other elements in the song. It is exactly the style of yours that I enjoy greatly.
However, although they it isn't distracting at all, the rising white noise before the first drop was a bit overpowering, but that's really all I have to say.
Amazing job, dude <3

svmmit responds:

thanks a lot ♥
I didn't really notice the riser being so loud until now that you mention it, so thanks for the feedback!

Oh yeah, I remember who pheidippides was, he was the messenger who ran all the way from Athens to Sparta and then back, and then died suddenly of exhaustion just after yelling "Nike!" the greek god of victory.

Anyway, I really love what you have here. You are extremely improving with your melodies, chords, and rhythm. What really made me attached to this song is the 8bit part at around 3:19. I absolutely love your synths there; especially that short plucky arpeggio at the beginning of every few bars. If I'm correct, (I recognize because I've done it before) did you use the serum noise oscillator with a volume lfo? If so, great job; if not, great job as well :) And best of all, it has a very nice contrast, but not too much so that it doesn't fit.

Having said that, I think it has a couple of minor problems. The very beginning of the song, there are the lowpassed chords and the drums. The drums are the main issue in this part, because they, especially the ride, are outlandishly high frequency compared to the soft chords, so i think a simple lowpass filter rising with the chords should do the trick.
At around 1:18, I'm not hearing much low end. I don't know if that was intentional, since the main drops come later, so I don't really know if you were trying to make like a drop or not.

Other than that, there isn't much else that really stands out to me as a problem, so amazing work, man! Can't wait for your next upload :)

MollusK-Music responds:

Yes, that's the one xD

Regarding your criticisms, I agree with both. That first section at 1:18 you regarded was not intended as a drop, in fact I greatly considered taking it out since it had little purpose. But, I left it in seeing as the chords were barely introduced. The drum-chord contrast issue is mainly due to the fact that I had to use my headphones for that particular section and I felt that when the filter was allowing more high-end it sounded too distorted. I found it quite peculiar as it was a rather soft sound, but I decided - most likely against all better judgement - that I should keep the automation rather slight.

Anyway, I'm glad you think my melody is getting better. I have been working a lot on various "Audio-fuckery" projects to work on certain aspects of my music; whether it be melody, sound design, structure, drums etc. Through that I've also discovered some love for more acoustic, unconventional drums. Which is why I have scoured the internet trying to find out where to get some high quality claps, similar to those used by Stèlouse and MYRNE. Yet, I really want to couple them with a nice, analog kick. So, maybe look for a future bass track with those... idk yet.

I'm really glad you liked the 8-bit section as well. If you are wondering, I did use a noise oscillator to make those whitenoise drum sounds. Everything else was essentially made with a square wave. I avoided filters for most of the sounds, to keep it as genuine as possible. Again, I was considering making a chiptune track at some point.

Either way, I'm glad you liked it and I appreciate the feedback, as always.
